EcoCrisis/sites (MapServer)

View In:   ArcGIS JavaScript   ArcGIS Online Map Viewer   ArcGIS Earth   ArcGIS Pro

Service Description:

This is a database of reports of extreme social-ecological events in colonial Mexico spread across about 660 unique geographic sites, including approximate locations of some 'unspecified sites' where the geographic center of the state or region was used. Geographic locations are, mostly, specified and precisely located. The database uses relational classes to link sites with reports (source records) and with events (specific social-ecological phenomena in specific geographic sites). Currently, there are more than 7,000 unique events with more than 11,000 reports. Social-ecological events are classified into thirteen event-types: abundance, church response, cold, crisis, dry, epizootic, geophysical, hot, illness, scarcity, state response, storm, and wet.
